I’ve always admired the lives of those who move. Athletes, artists, workers, adventurers.
Maybe that’s what led me to pursue a life of movement.
I’ve played high-level football, competed in crossfit, trained as a PT and completed a Hyrox, all whilst earning a degree in industrial design, studying and practicing film and photography.
But as a DP and Photographer my work, travels and dogs have kept me moving.
I’ve had a close call photographing a monkey whilst snowboarding Shiga Kogen in Japan, shot non-stop for 19 hours overnight when DP’ing a werewolf film in NZ, dug out a rental car stuck on a Beach in Iceland, got lost running in 35 degree heat in the South of France, found myself plastered over billboards for an Asics campaign I shot in Italy and wrote off the RV that we were traveling in. I shot a Spaghetti Western in the middle of Ruatiti Valley, NZ, made friends with hundreds, if not thousands of cows as I visited about 78 farms across New Zealand and Australia, and hung out with Olympians as they competed, accomplished victory and returned from injury.
What intrigues me most is how movement calms the mind, and activity leads to stillness and clarity.
Somewhere in there, I met a French girl, Elise, and we’ve since had our Son, Marlo.
Am I ready to slow down?
Of course not. I’ve just signed up for an Ironman.
